{"id":347,"date":"2009-05-24T20:55:53","date_gmt":"2009-05-24T18:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/glandium.org\/blog\/?p=347"},"modified":"2010-01-27T08:52:24","modified_gmt":"2010-01-27T07:52:24","slug":"announcing-vmfs-tools-version-010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glandium.org\/blog\/?p=347","title":{"rendered":"Announcing vmfs-tools version 0.1.0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apart from having been on vacation under the sun, I've been busy working with a friend of mine on something we called vmfs-tools, which is partly why there is still no part 2 to the <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=329\">previous post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In case you don't know, VMFS is a clustered filesystem designed to store virtual machine disks for VMware ESX or ESXi Server hosts. Our ultimate goal is to give read-write access to these filesystems from some other host, for maintenance tasks such as, e.g. backup.<\/p>\n<p>Files within the VMFS file systems can be accessed either from a CLI tool, or through a FUSE filesystem.<\/p>\n<p>For the moment, only read support is available, and some known issues are still to be fixed, as well as a revamp of a part of the internal API.<\/p>\n<p>The (quite sparse) <a href=\"http:\/\/glandium.org\/projects\/vmfs-tools\/\">homepage for this project is hosted here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A Debian package is also sitting in NEW.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apart from having been on vacation under the sun, I&#8217;ve been busy working with a friend of mine on something we called vmfs-tools, which is partly why there is still no part 2 to the previous post.
