But the fact is, <a href=\"http:\/\/exo-blog.blogspot.com\/2008\/09\/internet-explorer-8-over-2x-fatter-than.html\">this<\/a> is what is going to happen with Google Chrome: stupid people proving that 2 + 2 = 5.<\/p>\n<p>I haven't tried IE8 nor am I willing to, but one of the rare things I read about IE8 when people were discussing how not innovative Google Chrome was, is that it uses a process per tab.<\/p>\n<p>Now let's assume IE binary code + libraries fit in 10MB (which is probably a small estimate), and you open 10 tabs. Here you are : 100MB RAM consumed. OH MY GOD!<\/p>\n<p>Except that memory is <b>shared<\/b> between the processes. That's 100MB <b>virtual<\/b> memory.<\/p>\n<p>Reality is that you'll have a hard time calculating the actual amount of memory used.<\/p>\n<p><b>Update:<\/b> It has already <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infoworld.com\/article\/08\/09\/03\/36TC-browsers_2.html\">started<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everybody is talking about that these days, since information on Google Chrome leaked.
